The Substitute (Wedding Pact 1) by Denise Grover Swank
My rating: 5 stars
My book review of The Substitute:
What a funny, wonderful read!
I picked this up on a lark and I’m so glad I did. The story involves the heroine, Megan, who can’t seem to pluck up the courage to tell her mother that she dumped her fiance. She flies home for the wedding that isn’t going to happen, trying to figure out how to break the news.
She meets a handsome man on the plane who, through a series of misunderstandings, suddenly finds himself mistaken for her groom. He’s got his own motives for sticking around to play the part, and going along with the mistake not only gives him more time to handle issues with his business, but to see Megan as more than a convenient means to an end.
The story was hilarious at times, especially Megan’s wacky grandmother. Also romantic and touching, and full of fun and awkward moments. Megan’s besties get their own books in this series, and I can’t wait to read them.
