January 2017 Bits and Bobs

With this being a new year and a fairly new blog as well, I’ve been playing around with my blog schedule and the types of posts I want to include. For now, I’m trying out the following format:

Snippet Sunday: Twice a month I’ll be posting tidbits from my works in progress.

Reviews: My review of a book or movie, once a month at this point.

Bits and Bobs: A monthly general update that will include personal tidbits.

Both the reviews and updates will post on Wednesdays. So for the time being, you can expect blog updates on two Sundays and two Wednesdays per month, unless something comes up that I just HAVE to post about.

More Bits and Bobs for January…

It’s been a hectic, but productive month with me getting in sync with a new writing/working/living schedule. I’m a scheduling addict, and the smell of a fresh new planner is almost as intoxicating as hundred-dollar designer perfume. So far, so good with my plans and schemes.

January also saw me making a brave effort at fighting off the colds and flu season germies people seem to be sharing, including my daughter. She spent a few days in the sore throat doldrums. I flirted with that sore throat for a week or so, heading it off with plenty of fluids, liquid echinacea, and trying (not always successfully) to get plenty of rest. Oh, and I launched into the 2017 Pop Sugar Reading Challenge! I’ll post my results here in Bits and Bobs posts.

Pop Sugar Reading Challenge Progress:

3 out of 40 checked off:

[X] A bestseller from a genre you don’t normally read (The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena)

[X] A book that’s been on your TBR list for way too long (Claimed by Evangeline Anderson)

[X] A book that’s more than 800 pages (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling)

Well, it’s a start. I read several other books, but they didn’t fall into any of the challenge categories.

How’d your month go? Read, watch, or do anything intriguing?
