Sharing another snippet today from Always the Bride. A quick synopsis:

Sometimes, ulterior motives can lead to true love…

Helping with her boss’s wedding plans is the last thing jilted bride Elizabeth needs after hiding away for months to lick her wounds. Handsome photographer Grant might lure her heart out of seclusion-but can he be trusted? His motives for wooing the stubborn beauty involve her ex-fiancee’s revenge…and a reward that will fund college tuition for his troubled little sister. How can they get to I Do’s when Grant’s plan involves leaving her at the altar? Or has his plan-and his heart-changed?

Last week, Grant and Lizzie met thanks to chasing after her boss’s dog, who almost ran into the street.  When Lizzie tries to thank Grant for grabbing the pet in time, he makes a scathing remark about her being an irresponsible dog owner.

We ended with: “Excuse me,” she snapped, “but before you climb on that high horse, it might interest you to know that this isn’t my dog.”

Let’s pick up from there…

“You were chasing it,” he said, still glowering at her.

“So were you.”

“My baby!” Georgia exclaimed, finally catching up. She scooped the puppy out of Lizzie’s arms, holding her close and leaving red lipstick marks as she rained kisses on its head.

Elizabeth folded her arms and gave the man a pointed smile. “You were saying about me being an irresponsible dog owner?”

His attention had snapped to the camera around his neck, however, which he examined and held up with a groan.

“Is it…damaged?” she asked, her irritation washed over by a twinge of guilt.

“If by damaged you mean broken.”

“Replacing a camera is the least I can do for P.P.’s hero,” Georgia said, her saucer-like sunglasses going askew as she nuzzled the puppy nose to nose.

…What do you think?
